Energy Consumption Statistics and Improvement Activities

At Hanwha Techwin, we strive to do our share in combating global warming through active efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions from its operations.
The initiative to replace our equipment with more energy-efficient units is coupled with a variety of other measures such as contests for energy-saving ideas, energy-saving campaigns and the ‘Energy Patrol’ program.

Installation of Economizers to Improve Boiler Efficiency and Cut Fuel Costs

Installation of Economizers to Improve Boiler Efficiency and Cut Fuel Costs

Economizers, which heat water using exhaust gases, have been installed across our production sites.
Further, by lowering the temperature of water boilers from 130℃ to 80℃, we increased fuel efficiency. These measures resulted in an annual saving on fuel costs of 7.7 million won and slashed our CO2 emissions by 9.5TOE.

High-efficiency Lamps

High-efficiency Lamps

Sodium lamps, previously used at our production sites, have been replaced by high-efficiency lamps.
These long-life light bubs not only enabled us a significant saving on maintenance costs, but also helped increase productivity, as they are glare-free and gentler on the eyes.
